Meet the Sanctuary Helping Cats Shed Serious Pounds

A first-of-its-kind sanctuary is dedicated entirely to cats carrying extreme excess weight, giving them structured diets, gentle movement plans, and patient caregivers while they slim down safely. Many of these cats arrive with mobility issues or health risks tied to obesity, and the rehab-style approach focuses on slow, sustainable progress rather than quick fixes. It's a good reminder for South Florida pet parents, too: with warm weather perfect for daily walks or a stroll along a pet-friendly beach, keeping our cats and dogs active is easier than ever.
